While it was suggested in the newspaper that Jack was reading in the hospital bed that "Solar Flares Could Have Caused Global Power Cut", there was no explanation of why Jack wound up in an alternate reality.
The fact that there were others that remember "The Beatles" is strong evidence that Jack began in a universe that contained them, rather than just imagining their existence as a creative catalyst (which would have been really interesting). His visit to the well-aged John Lennon implies that Jack was averted into an alternate reality rather than just some kind of mass Mandella Effect.
I find it curious that Jack was in free-fall at the exact moment of the blackout, the very moment history was being changed. Could this have something to do with why Jack was excluded from the historic erasure?
Perhaps the two other "rememberers" were also somehow (and coincidently) in free-fall at that exact time as well? I would be very interested to hear what they were doing and of their specific experiences during the blackout. This is a detail I think Jack should have asked those two about after the concert in Gorleston. Regardless, they were still the key to his successful character-developing visit with "his oracle".
